Why is my mouse acting erratically?
Users who have an optical mechanical mouse (most common mouse for desktop computers) are likely experiencing erratic behaviour because the mouse is dirty. If you've cleaned the mouse and continue to encounter issues and this mouse has worked in the past fine unfortunately your mouse is likely defective. One additional test that can be done to help determine if this is the case or not is to connect the mouse to another computer. Otherwise we suggest replacing the mouse.
Why does my mouse freeze up?
The most likely cause of this problem will be due to your computer's CPU (Central Processor Unit) usage. In this case you may be running more programs than necessary or simply have a lot of background applications open without even realising it. This can potentially be the most annoying as this may mean that your PC is due an upgrade but before committing to this purchase then try these options.
i) Wait a few seconds - The simplest solutions are most often the best. Simply wait a few seconds to see if the problem resolves itself. If the problem persists or repeats itself then further investigation is required.
ii) Close some programs - Some computer programs will keep themselves open in the background without you realising. Look at the bottom right of your Windows Desktop to see if there are any programs still running which you could potentially close.
iii) If all else fails then power off and then power back on to completely clear any unwanted and troublesome background applications or programs.
My keyboard stopped working, now what?
If your USB Keyboard stopped working, you can try to disconnect it and connect it back on the fly. USB connections are plug and play, so if you are running Windows and your USB keyboard doesn't work, you can try unplugging and plugging it back to re-establish the communication, or simply try connecting it to another USB port. If this still doesn't work, check the led lights on the keyboard; are any of them on? If they are, is the computer acting slowly? You may need to restart it at this point to refresh your computer memory and resources to get it back to normal speed, or perhaps it needs maintenance by running disc cleanup and disk defragmenter.
